Now that July is here, summer is officially in full swing. If you are planning any summer trips, you need to get your car ready for summer. With a few simple maintenance steps, you can hopefully avoid any potentially bigger problems down the road.
- Check your A/C. There is almost nothing worse than your air conditioning going out while on a long road trip. Make sure it is working properly without any strange noises or smells.
- Inspect your tires. As air temperature fluctuates, so does the pressure in your tires. Check your pressure at least once a month and look for signs of tire wear, like cracks or low tread.
- Get new blades. Your windshield wiper blades need to be replaced every six months or so, depending on their condition. If they are leaving streaks, stuttering across the window, or have cracks in them, it is time for a new pair.
- Check your battery. The high summer heat can wreak havoc on your car’s battery. Have it tested to make sure it has enough power left to stand up to the heat.
If you are preparing for a summer trip soon, schedule a service appointment with us here at Bush Auto Place and we will make sure your car is in good working order.
